1.
behind each step the shadows never rest behind each shadow is a question behind each word the feelings never said communication is just a step behind each step the shadows never rest behind each shadow is this question: where's the love? where's the heart? where's the youth we used to know?
2.
this wooded trail an unknown end followed less with every bend the growing tree with roots so deep branches wide turning leaves the swirling tide with life in tow the coral sun with night below this wooded trail an unknown end followed less with every bend
3.
there's no escaping the direction once set (a wake is passing by eroded shore to sky deepening valleys never rest) there's no escaping the direction once set (a wave is passing by eroded shore to sky shallow water to my chest)

5.
I once was a sun I once was a mountain At once I awoke At once I slept Awoke as a sun Awoke as a mountain I once was a cell split and divided At once I awoke At once I slept At once I awoke split and divided
6.
a fog lifts up the morning a breeze drifts through the night a tree blooms in the shadows a flower fades in the sun these mysteries become us as dreams fill our minds these mysteries become us as dreams fill our minds

about

“Human History” - a collection of songs initially recorded in rural Illinois with the hope of capturing the open skies and prairies that extend in every direction. The final mixes and tracks were completed in western MA where old growth forests seem to ignore the weight of human history. Recorded on analog tape to a Studer A820 24 track and mixed with a 1970's EAB TRE 500 recording console.
